Al Qudra Cycling Track: Ride into Dubai’s Desert
Swap city streets for a desert bike ride, with open views, rest stops and practical planning for the journey home. Archive photo (2017): Nicor / Wikimedia Commons, cropped, CC BY-SA 4.0.
Al Qudra brings a different rhythm to exploring Dubai: a bike ride through an open desert landscape. Visit Dubai describes a network used by leisure riders and experienced cyclists, with shaded rest stations along the route. Choose a distance that suits your fitness and allow time to return before dark. Much of the track is unlit, and taxis can be scarce, so arrange the journey home before setting off. Bike hire is listed at the Trek store at the end of Al Qudra Road; check directly for a suitable bike and rental availability. Wear a helmet and follow track signs.
