Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre: Explore a Coastal Forest
Take an outdoor nature walk and discover the birds, marine life and mangrove habitats of Sharjah’s east coast. Archive photo (2023): Lxs / Wikimedia Commons, cropped, CC BY-SA 4.0.
The Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre offers a closer look at the coastal habitats of Sharjah’s east coast. Its outdoor tour leads visitors into a mature mangrove landscape, while the centre introduces the birds and marine life associated with this environment. Look for the relationship between the trees, tidal water and the creatures that depend on them rather than treating a particular wildlife sighting as a certainty. The centre also supports environmental education and turtle rehabilitation. Before making the journey, confirm current visiting arrangements with the centre. This is a nature-walk and learning visit; kayaking needs separate operator confirmation. Image: The Khor Kalba nature-reserve landscape viewed from its crossing in January 2023. Archive photograph.
