Dhayah Fort, Ras Al Khaimah
Climb to Dhayah Fort in Ras Al Khaimah for a historic hilltop setting overlooking palm gardens, mountains and the coast.
Dhayah Fort sits above a palm-filled oasis in northern Ras Al Khaimah. Its nineteenth-century twin towers occupy a hilltop reached by 239 steps, with views across the surrounding mountains, date gardens and coastline. The fort is part of a wider historic landscape that includes another fort at the base of the hill and archaeological tombs nearby. This is a place to explore heritage and scenery at a measured pace. Plan a daylight visit: the route is uneven and rocky, has no lighting, and is not accessible to prams, wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Check current visitor information before travelling.
