Dhafer Youssef at Louvre Abu Dhabi
Tunisian oud master and vocalist Dhafer Youssef leads his quintet in an outdoor Abu Dhabi premiere on the Louvre Abu Dhabi Auditorium Plaza.
Dhafer Youssef, the Tunisian oud player, singer and composer, brings his quintet to the open-air Auditorium Plaza at Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saturday 19 December 2026, billed as an Abu Dhabi premiere. The evening runs from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. The organiser describes a programme that blends Sufi heritage, jazz and global sounds, mixing well-known pieces from his catalogue with new material. Born in Tunisia and now splitting his time between Vienna, Paris and New York, he is known for reshaping the oud in contemporary music. The concert sits on Saadiyat Island beside the museum's famous dome, which makes it a fitting setting for an evening of cross-cultural music. Discounts are mentioned for students and People of Determination, according to the organiser's page.
