Walk Al Hosn with a free, offline audio guide
Visit Abu Dhabi’s VoiceMap walk adds stories to the Al Hosn site, with GPS-triggered audio and offline access after download. Fort admission is separate. Archive Qasr Al Hosn photograph (1904): Hermann Burchardt / Wikimedia Commons, public domain.
Give an Al Hosn visit a little more context with The Historical Heart of Abu Dhabi, an audio walk published by Visit Abu Dhabi on VoiceMap. The route starts at Qasr Al Hosn and connects the fort’s story with the Cultural Foundation and House of Artisans. VoiceMap lists a walking time of around an hour. Download the tour before setting out. GPS triggers the commentary along the route, and the downloaded audio and map work offline. You can pause when something catches your attention and resume afterwards. The useful distinction is that the audio tour is free; it is not a free admission ticket to every place on the route. Check the fort’s entry arrangements and site opening times separately. Image: Archive photograph: Qasr Al Hosn in 1904, by Hermann Burchardt. The modern audio walk explores the site’s history.
